Public consultation on draft RD “Specialised Real Estate Investment Fund”

The FPS Finance is organising a public consultation on the draft Royal Decree relating to "gespecialiseerde vastgoedbeleggingsfondsen" (GVBF - specialised real estate investment funds) [1]. It wishes to hear the views of the various market players on this draft RD.

This new type of real estate fund would offer a flexible regulatory framework with regard to the company law, tax law and the financial regulations; it would be oriented on real estate investments and be reserved for institutional and professional investors without possibility of stock-market flotation. A GVBF would focus more specifically on an investment policy over a shorter period and sometimes limited to a few assets (or even a single asset element) – with a minimum value of the held real estate of 10,000,000.00 EUR. The GVBF is one of the measures announced by the federal government to make the Belgian property market more attractive for institutional and/or foreign investors.

Interested parties can submit their written feedback on this draft RD from November 1st through 8 November 2016 at the latest. For more information on how to do so, you can consult the following website of the FPS Finance.
